Ginny prided herself on keeping a strong upper chin during pregnancy. Becoming bloated with the seed of life didn't make one automatically exempt from housework, after all. There were older children to rear, shelves to wipe, meals to make. And usually, her body was quite compliant.
Not this time.
Whatever time Ginny didn't spend bedridden from extreme nausea were either spent in the bathroom or the floor.
She hadn't fainted a single time ever since she and Joon had first met, but luckily, she recovered each time with a perfect recollection of her current memories. No luck on those before their meeting.
True to her hardy nature, though, she would pull herself up every single time, not willing to be kept still. This greatly upset Joon, who urged her to rest. She wouldn't listen unless by the force of her own body.
Naturally, this left the majority of the housework to Joon himself. Days fell into nights as he whittled them away with every house task he could manage to take upon himself. Ginny would have complained had she seen the extent of his work - he made it a point to never pass by her room while she was resting for this very reason. Sleep was a thing of the past, and while he often told others that he could run on very little rest, there was only so far he could go.
Of course, on the one rare occasion Ginny was mobile and Joon wasn't was when the babies decided to come. Fortunately, she was able to hail a taxi to take her to the hospital - for whatever reason, they decided to stop for Joon more than they did for her. She fielded a few uncomfortable comments from the driver - an elder pixie - about whether or not he could have the honor of being the next "baby daddy", but ignored them well enough until she arrived to the hospital.
Joon was happy to wake up for once to a silent house...before closely examining the quiet and realizing what it meant. It looked like he would have to forgo sleep for a little whole longer.
Three girls came home with Ginny, all practically identical to one another. Thankfully, the cabbie who took her home this time held his tongue - even over all of the crying the children were doing.
The household welcomed Thistle, Allbright, and Rein with open arms.
Osiris took an immediate liking to his younger siblings, and Ginny was sure that it was the beginning of a happy relationship between the four. Her heart ached slightly, reminded of the quadruplets, but abandoned her sadness with a quick prayer and a smile. She had new children to think of.
Months passed, and the babies grew from helpless bundles to slightly more active toddlers.
Thistle had very little concern for those around her, often engaging in reckless play that ended in tears and bandages for everyone present.
Allbright had an agreeable personality once she was comfortable with her surroundings.
Rein wasn't exactly a loner, but she didn't mind being alone, either. When her siblings babbled their strange language over their tub of blocks, she was perfectly content to sit in the corner, chewing her toes.
She also found herself immediately suspicious of anyone who wasn't Mom or Osiris, something Joon worked hard to get around.
Joon and Ginny worked hard around the clock to bring up the toddlers in an orderly manner. Surrounding them with music, toys, and stimulation was their main goal for the next few weeks. And still, even when thrown into his work, Joon couldn't help but entertain that one question - who was the father?
The purple hair that all three had inherited in particular irked him, for all he could remember was Alex, his gloved hands slapping the arcade cabinet.
No, it couldn't be him. He would never sleep with Ginny. Still...
He had to work even harder if he was to get these thoughts out of his head. He would work so hard that there would be no place in his heart for doubt in the mission. When everyone in the Iterum household was asleep, he slipped into the night, only to be seen in the morning.
