He wasn't supposed to do this to himself.

It was difficult for Fawn to not overanalyze the newly born twin's features. Often when in the midst of menial tasks involving the little ones, he found himself rounding off a list of every male resident in town, struggling to find a match. Why did he mind so much? If he truly cared of their lineage, he could have simply asked Ginny whom she had slept with at the bar. There was very little to go off on, anyway, what with Warwick's perfect inheritance of his mother's hair and Osiris' cute - but unremarkable - look. This obsession, egged on by his former friend's harsh words, had to end. It was not his place to question these duties.

Ignoring these spiteful feelings helped in the short term, though Fawn wondered how long he could keep from buckling. Regardless, the children grew, and he was no closer to his answers.

A recent bout of snowfall bought the household a few days away from work and school.

Nix used her time wisely with lab partner Blossom. Though she had been invited over to the household in order to complete a long-overdue assignment, somehow, the pair became distracted. Never before had Nix felt so close to another human being.

Throwing on her jacket, she was able to convince her parents that stargazing in the snow was a central part of her school work.

After she was done, the party awaited.

The younger twins were the first to age up.

And the oldest trio followed suit.

Even the quads had their moment in the sun.

Still, as happy as the party was, it didn't change the fact that Ginny had to say goodbye to her young adults. While it wasn't a permanent farewell, sending her children off into the fresh, dangerous world was every mother's worst nightmare. All three had dreams of establishing new towns. They had decided to travel together to remain safe - Virgo's people skills and the twin's natural instincts were sure to be a fantastic combination.

Still, Fawn instructed his brood to take caution. They carried with them the weight of their species.

But no amount of talking could deter the three from their final leave. When all goodbyes had been said, they walked out into the snowy night. But a figure stood in their way.

"Did you really think that I was letting you go without me?"

And that's how Blossom joined the trio's group.

Ginny barely had the time to notice her children's absence, though...

  1. Uh... oh... Ginny's pregnant again. lol. That's not really an uh oh moment though. I think Fawn cares about Ginny... more than he should... knowing her destiny... but I do still like him.
