Despite the snow, it was a wonderfully bright Saturday morning, the type that made the trees sway over the weight of the earth and erase memories of worst days past from the minds of Lunar Lakes' inhabitants.

But the Iterum household was silent.

This might have been partially due to the fact that the only members home were Joon and the younger twins, who were old enough to stray his line of sight for a few hours at a time. But he knew that this was not the reason. He relished silence, but this type weighed heavily on his mind.

He tried to put his mind elsewhere, tried to forget the implications that were ripping apart his head...but all he could hear was the banging of an arcade table and the voice of his past friend.

Someone had once told him that belief without doubt was foolishness, not devotion. Hopefully, that would prove true. He had a lot more to go through with Ginny before the thought of faltering could become even a remote possibility.

He continued to clean.

It was odd for the four of them to visit their father's grave. Of course, they all had known that he had left a body behind, one that would have been naturally found in Lunar Lakes' Graveyard. All four had visited it on separate occasion, usually without telling the others. And when they woke up to an unusually still home, they knew that it was time.

Their immediate reaction was to mourn, but they soon quickly saw the pointlessness in that. Their father had lived a good afterlife, dedicating most of it to their lives.  So they began to talk, trading memories of the man that had lead them through this life.

All of them were passionate in their recounts, and listened dutifully to one another.

Ginny watched her children from the front of the Graveyard's main building. She had business inside, reporting Haili's disappearance and filling out the accompanying busywork. With him gone, she knew it was only a matter of time before the quadruplets were due to age up. Smiling sadly at both thoughts, she entered.

She had a lot more to go through with the Goddesses before the thought of faltering could become even a remote possibility.

---

True to her expectations, the quads aged up, right then and there.

Happy birthday, Orion!

Happy birthday, Alilive!

Happy birthday, Niro!

Happy birthday, Casper!

All four had no desire to leave each other's side, even with the freedom of adulthood. They decided that their life goal would be improving relations between the supernatural world and the human, their very existence proof that unity was possible. After their goodbyes, they went into the world, grim faced but excited for the opportunities ahead.

But the house wouldn't be empty for long. Ginny marveled at the feeling of the maternal wear against her skin, and how familiar it was getting...

  1. I adore the quadruplets :) they are all so unqiue. But I think I like Casper most, he has something special and calm around him :) it's nice to see how every child in this story gets personality not like in most baby challenges

  2. The quads are all beautiful adults. I am looking forward to seeing how they do. I still feel badly for Fawn though.
